THE PILLARS OF THE SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY

SUSTAINABILITY

It is our first interest to live and live in an environment that is as pleasant and unpolluted as possible. Our team is strongly involved in the search for increasingly eco-friendly solutions and in the production of films in accordance with the ethics of preserving the environment.

WE PRESENT OUR THIRD SUSTAINABILITY REPORT!

Mondorevive strongly believes in the values of increasingly responsible and sustainable production.

This is why our strategies and actions, summarised below, are fully aligned with the global and national policies on sustainable development and the circular economy, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the National Strategy for Sustainable Development 2017-2030.

We obtained our first Sustainability Report in 2020, and we renewed our commitment in 2021. The salient aspects are summarized here. Mondorevive makes its effective contribution to an increasingly circular economy for sustainable development.

Values such as sustainability and circularity are now an integral part of our business and inform all our strategies and actions. A significant example of this is the decision, taken in November 2020, to change our company name from “Mondoplastico S.p.A.” to “Mondorevive S.p.A.”.

Also in 2020, a Group Code of Ethics was drawn up and adopted to provide guidance to the various corporate functions in preparing and updating procedures; supervising compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements and legal obligations; supervising respect for people and equal opportunities, compliance with rules of conduct and corporate activities focused on sustainable development; and adopting the most effective measures to preserve the environment for the benefit of the community and future generations.

Through the Sustainability Report, we wish to share with all our stakeholders the principles of our corporate strategy as well as the actions and results achieved in the three-year period 2018-2021 in support of the environment and sustainable development.

PVC: AN INCREASINGLY SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL

An increasingly advanced technology to protect our planet, but without neglecting the high performance of our products

How we improve day by day

LOW-CARBON
PVC is a low-carbon plastic: 57% of its molecular weight is chlorine, derived from common salt, 5% is hydrogen and only 38% is carbon.

LCA AND ECO-EFFICIENCY
PVC allows the formulations to be varied while maintaining the same technical performance and even improving the safety and sustainability of the finished products.

SAFE FORMULATIONS
PVC allows the formulations to be varied while maintaining the same technical performance and even improving the safety and sustainability of the finished products.

Perhaps not everyone knows that:

PVC is classified as a “non-hazardous” substance by the European Reach Regulation on chemicals. The technologies currently available ensure almost total recovery of the monomer vinyl chloride or VCM through closed-loop operations. For many decades, dioxins have NO longer been a problem for the PVC industry. PVC has inherently self-extinguishing properties and does not contribute to the spread of flames.

A EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY COMMITMENT

Mondorevive’s objectives are as ambitious as they are defined
